Avie Ann Benford

 Ellaville, GA --- Mrs. Avie Ann Benford, age 71, of Ellaville, died Sunday morning, August 30, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA.  A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 11:00AM at Philippi Cemetery.  Rev. Mark Chandler will officiate.

     Mrs. Benford was born January 29, 1944 on Schley County, the daughter of the late Roy and Marilu Wilson.  She loved to sew, crochet, watch cooking shows, especially those on PBS and the Food Network.  Mrs Benford also enjoyed researching her family history.  She was of the Baptist faith.

    Mrs. Benford is survived by two sons, William Roy Benford of Ellaville, Wiley Benford and wife, Brenda of Ellaville; one brother, Luther Wilson of Ellaville; two sisters, Gloria Wilson of Ellaville, Beth Roach and husband Homer of Leesburg, GA; one sister in law, Judy Wilson of Ellaville. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jacob Benford, Morgan Benford, Jason Dobbs and Cody Dobbs.  Mrs. Benford was preceded in death by her husband, Willie William Benford, a son, Gary Wayne Benford and a brother, Lonnie Wilson.

      Active pallbearers will be Jason Dobbs, Jesse Wilson, Ken Wilson, Cody Dobbs, Jacob Benford, and Al Colquitt.    

      Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville.  The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for their exceptional care.
