Betty J. Ellis

Mrs. Betty Jean Ellis, 92, of Buena Vista, GA, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA. A graveside service will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Joey Wells officiating.

Mrs. Ellis was born March 10, 1932, in Gadsden, AL. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and lived a life of service in the “Brown Bag Ministry” with her husband for 30 years.  Mrs. Ellis loved animals but especially cats. She loved the water and boating.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, David Ellis of Buena Vista, GA; by two step daughters, Denise Ellis of Chesterfield Township, MI, and Debra Ellis Baskin of Southfield, MI; grandchildren, Sean and Katy Baskin and Hailey Baskin and one great-grandchild, Sebastian Baskin.
