Ms. Betty Harbuck Kirksey, 78, of Oglethorpe, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on July 29, 2025. A memorial visitation will be held at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Ellaville on August 9, 2025, from 1:00-3:00PM. The family asks that attendees wear bright colors to celebrate her life.

Ms. Kirksey was born November 23, 1946, in Preston, GA to Oscar, Sr. and Floris Huff Harbuck. She was a member of Plentitude Baptist Church. Ms. Kirksey enjoyed fishing, dancing, singing, listening to classic country music and playing on her iPad. She was loved dearly by her family and will be missed tremendously. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Pope.

Survivors include her children, Frank McClung and Angie of Homer, GA, Traci Schandel and her husband, Brian of Bowling Green, KY, and Patty Brock and her husband, Thomas of Oglethorpe, GA; seven grandchildren, Brandon McClung (Lauren), Brittany McClung, Matt Schandel (Neil Towery), Caitlin Schandel, Brooksie Manning (Kyle), Madysen Farrell (Dillon Bowers) and Bo Brock (Courtney); 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Oscar Harbuck, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl of Ellaville; three sisters, Mary Tondee (Clyde) of Tallahassee, FL, Edna Johnson of Americus, GA, and Debra Jordan of Heavener, OK; a special friend, Daryl “DJ” Jackson of Macon, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
