ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Bryce Richard Mason, 46, of Big Island, Hawaii, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.  A celebration of life service will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Ellaville with Rev. Ricky Rushing officiating.

     Mr. Mason was born July 6, 1972 in Gosford, Australia to the late Alfred and Yoshiko Yohen Mason.  He graduated from Montana State University with a psychology degree with a minor in English.  Mr. Mason later received a Master’s in Science in Oriental Medicine from the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  He was a lifelong learner of Kung Fu Martial Arts, enjoyed learning about any subject that interested him, loved playing with the kids and enjoyed being outside.  The ocean was important to him.  He enjoyed swimming, scuba diving, paddle boarding and was even married in the ocean, 80 feet out and 100 feet down.  His daughter stated that “When we lived in Hawaii, my Pop and I use to love relaxing in the ocean after a long day of work.” Mr. Mason worked as a data software engineer at PharmaCentra in Americus, GA.  He attended Hopewell United Methodist Church.

     Survivors include his wife, Ellen Mason; children, Julia Mason, Bryce Mason, Joshua Mason, Kawika Mason, and Kekoa Mason; brother, Gerald Mason and wife Natalie; and nieces, Kainani Mason and Noelani Mason.

     Flowers are welcomed or memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell United Methodist Church.
