Obituary

Mrs. C. Louise Johnston, 80, of Box Springs, GA, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Piedmont Columbus Regional – Midtown. A memorial service will be held at 12:00PM EST on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in the chapel of Way-Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista, GA, with Pastor Daniel McDonaldson officiating. Burial will follow the service in Buena Vista Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00AM.

Mrs. Johnston was born on December 3, 1945, in Columbus, GA, to Louis Franklin and Catherine Viola Cunningham Youngblood. She was a proud graduate of Baker High School in Columbus, GA. Mrs. Johnston loved to reminisce about her high school days and was a member of the Baker High School Alumni Chapter. She was employed as a bookkeeper at the local poultry plant over the years - Dent Hardware, Cargill, and Tyson. A wonderful mother, she worked hard and raised her four children. Mrs. Johnston wholeheartedly believed in each of them. They always had a home with her – no matter what. She was a very giving woman and always had something to share with those in need. Mrs. Johnston loved the Lord, and she thanked Jesus daily for her life and her loved ones. Gospel music played every day at her house and she enjoyed going to the old-time gospel singings when she could. She loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her sisters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron David Johnston, Sr.

She is survived by her four children, Anita J. O’Neal (Jeff) of Buena Vista, GA, Cassandra “Cissy” Johnston of Panama City, FL, Charlotte Jeckel (Bobby) of Panama City, FL, and Aaron David Johnston, Jr. (Kay) of Box Springs, GA; by three sisters, Betty Glaze, Linnie Youngblood, and Linda Davis; by five grandchildren, Jacob, Casey, Holly, Catherine, and Hunter and by eight great-grandchildren.
