Connie D. Stevens

Ms. Connie D. Stevens, 58 of Ellaville, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.  Funeral services will be held at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Ellaville on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 11:00AM with Pastor Chris Yarber officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00PM. Pallbearers will be Ben Roberts, Danny Payne, Ronnie Payne, Wade Cox, Andrew Cox, and Ben Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Robbins, Bobby Avery, Jr., Tuck Teele, Bentley Avery, Rhett Teele, and Cole Avery.

Ms. Stevens was born May 25, 1964 in Macon, Georgia to A.C. Stevens and Glenda Kennedy Stevens.  She adored spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Ms. Stevens enjoyed her job as an accountant with Imerys, Inc. for over 15 years and she also loved shopping, chocolate and a good cup of coffee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Billy “Daddy Bill” Schafer.

Survivors include her children, Ciji Cox and her husband, Michael of Ideal, Bobby Avery and his wife, Stephanie of Ellaville, and Vicki Teele and her husband, Lance of Ellaville; two sisters, Donna Miller of Scottsdale, AZ and Lora Roberts of Montezuma, GA; eight grandchildren, Wade Cox, Andrew Cox, Bobby Avery, Jr., Tuck Teele, Bentley Avery, Ellie Mae Teele, Cole Avery, and Rhett Teele; a nephew, Ben Miller and his wife, Ashley of Pitts, GA; and her best friend, Beverly Robbins and her husband, Ricky of Montezuma.  

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Phoebe-Sumter Foundation, Oncology & Hematology or Phoebe-Sumter Hospice, 126 Highway 280 West, Americus, GA 31719.
