Donna R. Scott, 78, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, February 12, 2026, in the chapel of Way-Watson Funeral Home with Rev. David Chapman officiating. A private family burial will follow the service. The family will greet friends at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 6:00-8:00PM. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Justin Campbell, Tori Tadsen, Trevor Scott, Dreyson Scott, Nathan Scott, and Lawson Scott.
Mrs. Scott was born in Graceville, FL, on February 7, 1947, to Daniel Clifton Register and Vivian Evans Brown. She attended college and became a CNA before becoming a mother. Mrs. Scott was The Boss of the house and enjoyed working in the yard and gardening. She and her neighbor often compared their gardens. Mrs. Scott held the position of Magistrate Judge in Marion County for several years. She was a member of the Beautiful View Garden Club and was in charge of organizing the Rural America Parade each year before her retirement. She loved to paint and draw and in her youth, she enjoyed owning and riding horses. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Yellow was her favorite color, and she loved butterflies, angels, dragonflies, hummingbirds, and purple irises. Along with her husband, Buddy, they raised and nurtured numerous foster children over the years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, James R. Brown, Sr., a son, Lee Gordon Scott, and two brothers, Johnny Brown and Henry Michael Register.
She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, L. G. “Buddy” Scott; by two sons, Lance and Kim Scott and Lyle and Samantha Scott; by seven daughters, Deanna Dee and Scott Campbell and Lois and Thomas Cain, Jessica Scott, Libbi Scott, Susan Daniels, Sarah Scott, and April Scott; by a brother Joshua and Christi Brown; by a sister, Nora and Gary Scott; by her grandchildren, Justin and Krystal Campbell, Tori and Jonathan Tadsen, Jeffrey Campbell, Lois Cain, Logan Cain, Sam Cain, Lawson Scott, Shae Scott, Dreyson Scott, Trevor and Abby Scott, Nathan Scott, Ellie Scott, Link Scott, Levi Scott, Violet Daniels, Delilah Rosado, Eli Scott, and Malachi Sobat; and by great-grandchildren Amunette Campbell, Damian Campbell, Kal-El Tadsen, Delilah Rosado, Eli Scott, Malachi Scott, Addison Scott, Ivory Scott, Elijah Scott, and Harper Scott.
