Earl Smith “Smitty” Tallent, 74, passed away on June 6, 2021 at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital.  Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 in Shiloh Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Andrew Stucker and Rev. Hugh Harbort. The family will receive friends following the service.

            Mr. Tallent was born September 14, 1946 to Roy Smith Tallent and Eloise Saunders Tallent.  He was a veteran of the United States Army. An avid fisherman, Mr. Tallent enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. His favorite pastime was spoiling his grandchildren and spending time with family.  He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Tallent.

            Survivors include his two sons, Ben Tallent and his wife, Amy of Americus, GA and Matthew Tallent of Smithville, GA; a daughter, Shelly Harbuck and her husband, Bill of Smithville, GA; a brother, Steve Tallent and his wife, Karen of Pendergrass, GA; three grandchildren, Gracie Tallent, Andrew Harbuck, and Micah Harbuck; two nieces and several other family and friends. 

            In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, Stewardship Fund, 961 Shiloh Rd., Americus, GA 31719 or Alaskan Tundra Missions, PO Box 104, Ellaville, GA 31806.
