Elizabeth Rogers

Ms. Elizabeth Anthony Rogers, 90, of Box Springs, GA, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Kindred Hospice in Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, July 2, 2018, at Oakland Church of God with Rev. Joshua Toomey and Rev. Mike Toomey officiating. Burial will follow the service at Brown Springs Church of God Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Will Allen, Jr., Benjamin Allen, Jonathan Allen, Anthony Allen, Timothy Toomey, and Jody Grimsley. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 1, 2018, from 5:00-7:00pm.

Ms. Rogers was born December 9, 1927, in Thomaston, GA, to Bascom and Hattie Phillips Anthony. She loved church and was a member of Oakland Church of God. Ms. Rogers enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and cooking. She had been employed at Goody’s as a mold worker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Rogers.

She is survived by her children, Richard Rogers, Jr. (Bronwen) of Phenix City, AL, Ronald Rogers of Mauk, GA, Catherine Toomey (Michael) of Mauk, GA, Mary Lynn Allen (Jim) of Buena Vista, GA, Donald Rogers (Joan) of Florida, and Reba Christian of Columbus, GA; two sisters, Sarah Rogers of Box Springs, GA, and Easter Johnson of Ellerslie, GA; Fourteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
