Elmira Lee Posey, Jr.

Ellaville, GA—Mr. Elmira Lee Posey, Jr., 60, of Ft. Valley, GA died Wednesday evening, October 5, 2016 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 2:00PM at Turner's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, 911 Roberta Highway, Butler, Georgia.  Bro. Robert Bradshaw will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Trey Barfield, Andy Winters, Billy Hobbs, Darin Barfield, Jeff Crook and Grant McCard.  The family will greet friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 12:30PM. 

     Mr. Posey was born August 27, 1956 in Taylor County, GA to the late Elmira and Odell Posey.  He was a supply clerk with Bibb Company.  Mr. Posey loved sports, especially football, fishing and his grandkids.   He was of the Baptist faith.

      Survivors include his ex-wife, Brenda Hobbs of Plains, GA; two sons, Brandon Posey and wife Lisa of Fort Valley, GA, Billy Hobbs and wife Mandy of Plains, GA; one daughter, Amber Posey-Barfield and husband Trey of Ellaville; two sisters, Della Robinson and husband, Kenny of Butler, GA, Laura Bryant and husband Ricky of Byron, GA.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Jonathan Hobbs, Jasen Posey, Shelby Barfield, Jacob Hobbs, Evan Barfield, Carter Posey and Kale Barfield.
