Elsie Weaver

Mrs. Elsie Weaver, 82, of Buena Vista, GA, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA. A graveside memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Oakland Church of God with Rev. David Chapman officiating. The family will greet friends at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista prior to the service on Sunday from 12:30pm until 2:30pm. There will be a procession from the funeral home to the graveside service after the visitation.

Mrs. Weaver was born in Marion County, GA, on December 30, 1942, to Cas Edward and Iola Mae Crapps Moulton. Before her retirement, she was employed with Magnolia Manor as a nurse. Mrs. Weaver was a talker and had the biggest heart. She loved big and she was always smiling and happy – you never saw her down. Mrs. Weaver enjoyed crocheting and watching “Walker, Texas Ranger.” She was a big fan of Chuck Norris and Conway Twitty. Spending time with her family was always at the top of her list and she was very protective of them. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her younger years, she enjoyed cooking and peanut butter cake was her specialty. Her house was always warm because she was cold natured. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Weaver, by two daughters, Kimberly Weaver and Pamela Barbaree, and six sisters.

She is survived by a daughter, Lanette Howard of Buena Vista, GA; a brother, Cas “Buddy” Moulton of Buena Vista, GA; five grandchildren, Joan Rogers (Donald), Jacob Barbaree (Shelby), Devin Ray (Felicia), William Howard (Haley), and Ryan Howard (Jordan); and numerous great-grandchildren.
