Emory Hill

Ellaville, GA—Mr. Emory Hill, 71, of Ellaville died Friday evening, September 9, 2016 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11:00AM at Ellaville Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Smith and Rev. Mark Poole officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ellaville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Hill, Barry Crow, Kerry Crowe, Joseph Allen, Steven Massey, Paul Massey, Noah Smith and Chris Massey.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Willing Workers Sunday school class and Deacons of Ellaville Baptist Church. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.  

     Mr. Hill was born June 8, 1945 in Fort Valley, GA to the late Ralph Hill, Sr. and Evelyn Hill.  He was retired from the US Navy and from Civil Service with the Albany Marine Corp Logistics Base.  Mr. Hill enjoyed fishing and had coached recreational football.   He was a member of American Legion Post 191 and a longtime member of Ellaville Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, sang with the Missionaires and was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.

      Survivors include his wife, Drucilla Hill; two sons, Jeffery Hill and companion Andrew Luria of Los Angeles, CA, Kevin Hill of Ellaville; two brothers, Ralph Hill, Jr. and wife Monica of Milledgeville, GA, Randy Hill and wife Melanie of Centerville, GA; two sisters, Annette Johnson and husband Roger of Woodland, AL, Ginny Queen and husband Terrell of Lawrenceville, GA.  Also surviving are two grandchildren, Simon Hill and Noah Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
