Esteban "Stevie" Baez

Mr. Esteban “Stevie” Baez, 49, of Buena Vista, GA, passed away on August 6, 2017, at Magnolia Manor of Marion County.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 4:00PM on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, in the Buena Vista Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 5:00PM at Inglesia El Sembrador.

Mr. Baez was born in Ft. Benning, GA, on January 17, 1968, to Wilfredo and Ana Baez. He had a very charismatic personality and enjoyed cooking and helping others. Stevie was a member of 4th Street Missionary Baptist Church in Columbus Georgia since 2001. He joined under the late Dr. JH Flakes, Jr. He was one of the first three deaf members to join the church and assisted in establishing the first Deaf Ministry for the church. He was very active in Deaf Bible Study, Deaf trips, Deaf Awareness Day activities and Sign Language Classes. Stevie never met a stranger and befriended everyone he met. His charm and bright smile will be missed. Mr. Baez was a loving son and brother. He was preceded in death by his mother.

He is survived by his father, Wilfredo Baez; by a sister, Enid Fraser; and by a nephew, Alexander Matthew Fraser, all of Buena Vista, GA.
