Eva Barry

Ms. Eva Claire McLendon Barry, 86, of Andersonville passed away at her residence on September 6, 2022.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022 in the chapel of Way-Watson Funeral Home at 10:00 AM with Rev. Mark Poole and Mr. Sammy Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Americus, GA. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Ms. Barry was born January 16, 1936 in Schley County to George Washington and Haru Duke McLendon.  She was a member of County Line United Methodist Church.  Ms. Barry enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, painting pictures, working in the garden and she always lit up with a smile when she saw babies or children.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Edward Barry and a brother, Alvin “Bo” McLendon.

Survivors include her son, Mike Barry of Andersonville, GA and a daughter Fran Kinservik and her husband, Mark of Andersonville, GA; a grandson, Barry Kinservik; a great-nephew, Nigel Poole and his wife, Lezlie; a great-niece, Brittney Giles; and four great-great-nephews, Jasper and Emory Poole, and Oren and Ezra Giles.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to County Line United Methodist Church, 6374 Englishville Rd., Andersonville, GA 31711.
