Evelyn Cox

Mrs. Evelyn Cox, 88, of Oglethorpe, passed away at her residence after an extended illness. Graveside services will be held in Bertha Dozier Memorial Park in Montezuma, GA on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 11:00AM with Rev. Mike Truitt officiating.

Mrs. Cox was born October 28, 1936, in Cullman, AL. She worked at Dixie Queen for twenty years. She enjoyed collecting trinkets and working outside with her flowers. Mrs. Cox loved spending time with her husband, especially fishing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Vernon Smith, and two nephews; Stephen Barlow and Dan Smith.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Cox, Sr. of Oglethorpe; two sons, Tim Gray of Rockmart, GA and Jerome Gray of Byron, GA; a brother, Don Smith of LaGrange, GA; a sister, Dale Price (Allen) of Warner Robins; a grandson, Jarrod Gray; a great-granddaughter, Everleigh Gray; several nieces and nephews. She was especially admired by her great niece, Leslie Newberry.
