Evelyn Hudson

Mrs. Evelyn Lizzie Hudson, 91, of Mauk, GA, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023, at her residence. A graveside funeral will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Oakland Church of God Cemetery with Rev. Luke Forsyth officiating.

Mrs. Hudson was born December 28, 1931, in Marion County, GA, to Pete and Frances Stephens Bruce. Before retirement, she was employed with Cargill as a USDA Inspector. Mrs. Hudson was a member Oakland Church of God and loved being outdoors gardening and planting roses. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, quilting, and crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Shirley Ann Albritton and Herman Hudson, Jr., by three brothers, James Bruce, Howell Bruce, and Bill Bruce and by a sister Odessa Bruce.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Herman Hudson, Sr. of Mauk, GA; two grandchildren, Tammy Duncan Singleton (Stephen) of Buena Vista, GA, and Brian Albritton (Reenie) of Mauk, GA; by a great-grandchild, Calli Ann Duncan of Cobb, GA; and by a son-in-law, Thomas Albritton.
