Mrs. Davis was born in Buena Vista, GA, on August 31, 1951, to Parker and Ollie Jordan Wells. She was born in her parent’s home, which was one of the oldest in Marion County, and has now been moved to Historic Westville. Her brother recalls it was a Friday morning. She was raised in Buena Vista, graduated high school with honors and attended Georgia Southwestern college, where she ultimately received her bachelor’s, master’s and specialist teaching degrees, in addition to meeting her future husband, Paul. He thought she was the sweetest girl whom he had ever met, and that was true until the end. The feeling was certainly mutual.

Mrs. Davis loved her family and friends deeply and was a caring “Mimi” for her beloved grandchildren and numerous special nieces, nephews, and other young children whom she got to know. She formed a special bond with her in-law, Ann, and together “Mimi” and “Granna” shared many special trips with grandchildren and family. Frances was a truly dedicated educator, having taught for 43 years, primarily 4th and 5th grades, in numerous Georgia public schools, including Clayton, Peach, Schley and Marion counties. She genuinely loved her students, and few things made her happier than seeing a former student and hearing about his or her life. She was a woman of faith and a dedicated member of Buena Vista Methodist church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her sisters-in-law, Margaret Davis, Helen Beall and Linda Davis and Jennifer’s parents, Michael and Ann Bentley.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Davis; son, Jack Davis (Jennifer) and their children Jacob and Lucy. Her brother, Brick Wells (Carol) and their children, Kelly Flournoy (Chris) and Kim Wells. Her brother-in-law, James Davis and his children, Bess Davis and Anna (Brian) McMillin. Her brother-in-law, Tom Beall, and his daughter, Virginia (Joseph) Fowler; in addition to numerous special cousins, nephews and nieces.

The family thanks the staff of Mattie Marshall Memory Care Center at Magnolia Manor in Americus, GA, for taking such good care of their wife, mother and “Mimi” in her last years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Buena Vista Methodist Church or the Mattie Marshall Memory Care Center at Magnolia Manor in Americus, GA in honor of Frances.
