Francis Nelson Cresson

Francis Nelson Cresson, 75, of Mauk, died Sunday, December 2, 2012, at Magnolia Manor of Marion County in Buena Vista.

A memorial service will be held at Tazewell Baptist Church at a later date with Reverend Dean Long officiating.

Mr. Cresson was born March 21, 1937, in Philadelphia, PA, to Dorothy Cresson. He was Baptist by faith and a member of Tazewell Baptist Church. Coming here from Pennsylvania, he had been living in the area for 4 years. He was a Mason and a member of St. James Lodge in Beaver, PA. He was also a member of Union 712 and was an electrician and welder.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Cresson and a brother, Eugene Cresson.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Cresson of Mauk, GA; by sons, Nelson Cresson of New Jersey, Michael Cresson, Arthur Evans, Jr. of Pennsylvania, Martin Evans of Mauk, GA, Michael Evans of Ellaville, GA, and Alan Evans of Texas; by daughters, Mary Lou Cresson of New Jersey, Lucinda Payne of Pennsylvania, Candace Hopkins of Colorado, Terri Milich and Lisa LaFrance, both of Pennsylvania; by a sister Dorothy Cresson; and by Several Grandchildren and Several Great-Grandchildren.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, was in charge of these arrangements.
