It’s with great sadness that we share the news of our Loving Mother Gale Curry Dowling’s passing. Gale went to meet Our Lord on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the age of 90 years old.

Gale had such a Loving and meaning impact on so many. Her kindness, warmth and love touched a lot of lives. We are so grateful for the memories we shared with her and the love she freely gave to those around her.

Gale a devoted Wife, Mother, Grammy, Great Grammy, Sister, Aunt and was born in Key West, Florida to Leonard Thompson Curry Sr. & Marion Marijean Curry.

Gale was so proud of her heritage having been born and raised in Key West Florida where she was a 1953 graduate of the Key West High School Fighting Conchs; also, her family connection to the Bahamas and Green Turtle Cay. Gale’s love of crocheting and designing and crafting were a huge passion in her life as well.

Gale worked at 1st National Bank, Truman Elementary School in which she then transferred to Glynn Archer Elementary School as Office Manager until her retirement and they made their move and built their home in Buena Vista, Georgia.

Gale was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years Edgar Turner Dowling, Sr.; her parents, Leonard Thompson Curry Sr. and Marion Marijean Curry, and a Grandson Matthew Curry Dowling Jr.

Gale is survived by her sons, Edgar Turner Dowling Jr., Harold I. Dowling (Debra), Matthew C. Dowling (Nancy); her brother, Leonard Thompson Curry (Geannie); god-daughter, Vicki Wright (Brad); Grandchildren, Elizabeth Fauquenot, (Benjamin), Edgar T. Dowling III(Ashton), Kailey A. Washington (Jason), Amanda J. Dowling, Larissa A. Dowling, Tiffany N. Downing (Mark), Ralph A. Garcia (Susanna); 9 great-grandchildren; and all the children who grew up in their home.

Visitation will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Saturday October 3, 2026, at Draneville Union Church, 3838 GA. Hwy 41, Buena Vista, GA 31803, followed by a celebration of her life at 11:00 AM.
