Garey B. Cox

AMERICUS, GA --- Mr. Garey B. “Red” Cox, 63, of Americus, GA, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017, Wilson Hospice House in Albany, GA.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, September 18, 2017, at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Andrew Stucker officiating. The family will greet friends at Watson-Giddens Funeral home on Sunday, September 17, 2017, from 5:00-7:00pm.

Mr. Cox was born August 19, 1954. He was Baptist by faith and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Mr. Cox enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to play golf. He was known as “Red” to everyone and was a good fellow all the way around.  He had been employed with Pickle Trucking as a driver and was also a welder. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his uncle, Richard Oates; a cousin,  Jason Oates,  and by his niece and nephews, Tristan Massey, Branden Massey, and Sarah Oates.
