ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Gary W. Williams, 64, of Ellaville, GA passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife and five children on Sunday, June 3, 2018.  He was born June 1, 1954 to Dr. G. W. Williams, Sr. and Nancy Meeks Williams.

     Gary is survived by his wife of 44 years, Juliane Tanner Williams; two daughters, Cody (Earnie) Johnson and Dr. Rebecca Faye Williams of Ellaville; three sons, Gary Wayne Williams, Jr. of Warner Robins, GA, Matthew Tanner Williams of Americus, GA, and Aaron Merritt Williams of Americus, GA.  Seven grandchildren also survive their beloved Pa.  His brother, Dr. George W. Williams, Jr. of Augusta, GA also survives him.  He leaves behind a large number of nieces and nephews and a special daughter by heart, Dr. Samantha Sparks.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. George Willis Williams, Sr. and Nancy Faye Meeks Williams; and his youngest brother, Dr. Gregory K. Williams.

     Gary graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy in 1980 and served the Americus community devotedly for 38 years.  Although the University of Georgia Bulldogs consumed most of his free time and attention, he still loved fishing, researching and collecting antique firearms, renovating old houses, and spoiling his cats.

     Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Douglas City Cemetery in Douglas, GA.  Rev. Jonathan Beckum of the Ellaville United Methodist Church will officiate.  Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Wayne Williams, Jr., Matthew Tanner Williams, Aaron Merritt Williams, Earnie J. Johnson II, Jacob B. Regus, and Ryan S. Meeks.  The Coffee County High School Class of 1972 is asked to be honorary pallbearers.  Steven Hornyak will perform vocal selections, “Amazing Grace” and “Shall We Gather at the River”.

     In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Ellaville United Methodist Church Youth Group, P. O. Box 74, Ellaville, GA  31806
