Mr. George T. “Duck” Johnson, 85, of Americus, passed away at his residence on September 11, 2026. Services will be private.

Mr. Johnson was born June 13, 1941, in Ellaville, GA to Joe Riley and Hatti Lou Sorrells Johnson. He retired from the Sumter County Road Department as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Johnson loved spending time with his family and friends and also hunting, fishing and playing cards. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Elizabeth “Cookie” Johnson and numerous siblings.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Crowe; three grandchildren, Anna Nicole Crowe (Chris), Elizabeth Meagan Crowe, and Ashton Bradley Crowe (Kaylen); five great-grandchildren, Kinsley Crowe, Knox Southard, Pierceson Southard, Oaklynn Culpepper, and Jackson Bradley Crowe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
