George "Burt" Tankersley

Mr. George “Burt” Burton Tankersley, 63, of Carrollton, GA passed away on August 10, 2021 at Tanner Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 3:00PM on August 28 at Shema Baptist Church; 1785 GA-228, Ellaville, Georgia 31806.

Mr. Tankersley was born April 10, 1958 to Phillip Burton Tankersley and Peggy Hewitt Tankersley. He was a welder by trade and loved making creations out of metal. Burt enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Shelvie Ferguson “Tootsie” Tankersly of Carrollton, GA; a daughter, Heather Hale and her husband, Cody of Americus, GA; two brothers, Mitch Tankersley of Carrollton, GA and Shawn Tankersley of Boonesville, MS; a sister, Pam Downs of Carrollton, GA; five grandchildren, Emily Wilder, Jackson Wilder, Riley Kate Hale, Kendall Hale and Logan Hale; and several nieces and nephews.
