Helen Johnson Walker

     ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mrs. Helen Johnson Walker, age 94, of Americus, GA died Sunday evening, February 14, 2016 at Magnolia Manor in Americus, GA.   Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, February 18, 2016 in Andersonville National Cemetery. 

     Mrs. Walker was born December 23, 1921 in Schley County the daughter of Hattie Sorrells Johnson and Joseph Riley Johnson.  She was a homemaker, having worked for Robins Air Force Base during World War II. Mrs. Walker attended Ebenezer Baptist Church.  She also was a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes.

    Survivors include one brother, George Johnson of Americus, two sisters, Jeanette Baxter of Hawkinsville, GA, Margie Harden of Americus, GA, nephew, Larry Wall and several other nieces and nephew.  Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, W. A. Walker.
