Mr. Jack O. Callaway, Jr., 69, of Preston, GA, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at his residence. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Callaway was born in LaGrange, GA, on April 23, 1956, to Jack O. Callaway, Sr. and Birdie Faulk Callaway. Over the years, he worked in maintenance repairing machinery for several different companies. He was employed with Cooper Lighting for 25 years, M&M-Mars for 6 years and then Tyson in Dawson, GA, for 11 years until his retirement. Mr. Callaway was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on cars. He loved his family and spent a lot of time watching his daughter, Brynne, play basketball throughout high school and college. Mr. Callaway was was a retired volunteer firefighter for Webster County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike Callaway and Don Callaway.
He is survived by his wife, Patti Callaway of Preston, GA; by two daughters, Brynne Callaway (Heather) of Nashville, TN, and Alicia Callaway of Savannah, GA; by three sisters, Verlyn Wells (Len), Sussie Callaway, and Estelle Callaway, all of Phenix City, AL; and by a granddaughter, Lennon Matute of Savannah, GA. Numerous nieces and nephews that were very near and dear to his heart also survive. He is also survived by his fur babies roscoe, Buddy, and Bear.
Way-Watson Funeral Home of Buena Vista, GA, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
