Jacqueline "Jackie" Elza Carswell

Mrs. Jacqueline “Jackie” Carswell, 85 of Ellaville passed away at her residence on January 5, 2022. Memorial services will be held in the chapel of Way-Watson Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 8, 2022 with Rev. Brian Bentley officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. The family will also gather at 100 Hayes Ave, Apt. 20 in Ellaville on Thursday evening.

Mrs. Carswell was born August 2, 1936 in Sumter County, GA to the late Marvin Elza and Mary Etta O’Hern Kidd. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Mrs. Carswell enjoyed swimming, bowling in which she had a 178 average score, and considered herself a “dancing fool.” In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Bubba” Carswell, a son, Curtis Underwood, and a brother, Buddy Kidd.

Survivors include her granddaughters, Brittany Underwood and her fiancé, Phil Dozier of Ellaville, GA and Chelsey Dunford of Americus, GA; two grandsons, Kristopher Duke of Americus, GA and Anthony Sisk of Woodstock, GA; a great-grandchild, Brayden Tidd; two daughters-in-law, Jamie Underwood and her companion, Darrien Dunford of Americus, GA and Kristy Wilkes and her husband, Justin of Abbeville, GA; and special friends, Sammy Starling of Columbus, GA, Irma Jean Wall, Wanda Colone and Jackie English, all of Ellaville, GA.
