Ms. Jacquelyn Gaye “Jackie” Teasley, 63, of Andersonville, GA, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Perfect Care in Americus, GA. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Americus First Methodist Church in Americus, GA, with Rev. Daryl Brown officiating.

Ms. Teasley was born in Washington, GA, on March 29, 1960, to Jack E. and Betty Goff Teasley.  She was a member of First Methodist Church in Americus. She graduated from Young Harris College and from LaGrange College with a double major in Biology and Chemistry. While at Young Harris she was a member of the Susan B’s sorority and at LaGrange College she was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. Jackie worked for many years as a Research Chemist in the paper mill industry. She felt a calling to help people through counseling and returned to school to complete a master’s degree in counseling from Columbus State University. She was a Licensed Professional Counselor with specialization in addictions and had been employed as the Clinical Director at the Perry Wellness Center. Jackie loved people and had a heart for missions. She never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, fishing, and reading. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Goff Teasley.

She is survived by her father, Jack E. Teasley of Americus, GA; by a brother and sister-in-law, Keith Teasley and Teresa of Americus, GA; by a sister and brother-in-law, Kim Teasley Thornhill and David of Grovetown, GA; by nieces and nephews, Hope Teasley Bateman and Nathan (Americus), Hannah Teasley Ledger and Matthew (Beaufort SC), Paul Thornhill and Kayla (Grovetown, GA) and Thomas Thornhill (Grovetown GA); and one great-nephew, Jackson Thomas Bateman (Americus). She is also survived by many close friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Perry Wellness Center, 302 East Furlow Street, Americus, GA or to First Methodist Church, Missions Fund, Americus, GA.
