James Fryer

Mr. James Fryer, 63, of Geneva, GA, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018, at his residence. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Cox Cemetery with Rev. Terry Hudson officiating. The family will greet friends at the cemetery prior to the service beginning at 9:30am.  Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Fryer,  Charles Adams, Trace Weaver, Jamie Whiteman and Tracy Watson.

Mr. Fryer was born June 4, 1955, in Reynolds, GA, to Leon Fryer and Helen Francis Robinson McCants. He was employed as an iron worker with Local 387. An avid musician, he loved playing his guitar and listening to music. His family was important to him and he loved them very much. He was a wildlife lover and particularly enjoyed his chickens. In his spare time, he like to fish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Linda Fryer, and a sister, Mary Catherine Craft.

He is survived by a daughter, Jamie Lynn and Ronald Weaver, Jr. of Howard, GA; a sister, Nannette and Tommy Holloway of Talbotton, GA; three half siblings, Samantha Sweatman of Manchester, GA, Tom McCants of Butler, GA, and Steve McCants of Seale, AL; and three grandchildren, Claudia Lynn Gay, Linda Melody Nicole Gay, and Sarah Tralynn Weaver.
