ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. James Harold Nolan, age 78, of Orlando, FL, formerly of Montezuma, GA, died Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Plantation Bay Rehabilitation Center in St. Cloud, FL. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 1:00PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery in Garden Valley, GA. Rev. Mark Poole will officiate.
Mr. Nolan was born July 8, 1937 in Sulligent, AL, the son of James and Mamie Nolan. He was a retired prison guard with the South Carolina Prison System. Mr. Nolan had served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a Mason. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Nolan in is survived by his wife, Sandra Nolan; eight stepchildren, Vicki Butler, Donna Burns, Margaret Cory, Susan Drake, Ronnie Baxter, Donald Baxter, Lee Simmons, Betty Simmons; and one brother, Jerry W. Nolan. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nolan was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret G. Nolan.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville.
