Jane Young DeVane

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mrs. Jane Young DeVane, age 69, of 2535 Poplar Ridge Road, Ellaville, GA died late Saturday evening, May 21, 2011 at Morningside Gardens in Albany, GA. Funeral Services will be held graveside at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in the Ellaville Cemetery. Dr. Ben Foxworth will officiate.
Mrs. DeVane was born September 12, 1941 in Sumter County, Georgia and was the daughter of Grace Montgomery Young and Walter Leroy Young, Sr. In addition to her parents, Mrs. DeVane was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Devane, Jr in 2005 and a brother Bill Young. She was a housewife, loving mother and a LPN. She was a member of Ellaville Baptist Church, Rainbow Garden Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Plains Historical Preservation Trust and was a Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer.
Survivors include two sons and daughter in laws, Joe and Debbie DeVane of Albany, GA, Bill and Sheila DeVane of Ellaville; one brother and sister in law, Roy and Vonnie Young of Plains, GA; one sister in law, Carol Sue DeVane of Ellaville; and grandchildren Edgar DeVane, Perry DeVane, Justin Rockenhouse, Haley Fulford, Lauren Fulford, Rae DeVane. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 23, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville. Pallbearers will include Walt Young, George Young, David Young, Mack Young, William Reid, Derick Humpfries, Johnny Lightner and Averette Phillips.
