ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Jerry Neil Bridier, age 78, of Ellaville, GA died Thursday, October 21, 2010. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 1:00PM in the chapel of Watson-Giddens Funeral Home with burial to follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery in Warner Robins, GA. Rev. Bryan Bentley and Rev. Tony Bankhead will officiate.
Mr. Bridier was born January 30, 1932 in Sayre, AL, the son of Estelle Lawson Bridier and Marcelle Bridier. He was retired from Civil Service, having worked at Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Bridier had also served in the Army. He attended Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Mr. Bridier is survived by his wife, Glenda Lee Bridier, one daughter, Cathy Griffis and husband Allen of Byron, GA; one son, Danny Neil Bridier of Eatonton, GA; two grandchildren, Stephanie Melvin and husband Chad, April Underwood; and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Hollis Bridier of Mobile, AL; two sisters, Margaret Brooks of Sylvester, GA and Fay Taylor of Lucedale, MS; two stepdaughters, Diane Anthony of Ellaville, Robin Bankhead and husband Tony of Columbus, GA; one stepson, Curtis J. Bullock of Walker, LA; seven step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be the deacons of Ebenezer Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, GA 31909.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 22, 2010 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville.
