Joel Steve Summerlin

AMERICUS, GA --- Mr. Joel Steve Summerlin, age 68, of Americus, GA died Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Summerlin was born May 5, 1944 in Carrollton, GA, the son of Addie Rene Kitchens Summerlin and Jewel Bliss Summerlin. He was a general contractor and had served in the Army.

Mr. Summerlin is survived by two daughters, Marnie Eason of Ellaville, GA, Lisa Chisenhall of Thomasville, GA; one son, Steve Summerlin of Leesburg, GA; and one brother, Donnie Summerlin of Americus, GA. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
