Obituary

Mr. John Michael Breivogel, 40, of Americus, passed away at his residence on August 12, 2026. Memorial services will be private and held at a later time.

John was born January 22, 1986, in Camp Lejeune, NC but was raised in Evansville, IN. Upon graduating high school, he enlisted in the Army infantry and as a sniper. Having served two tours in Iraq, he was affectionately known as “Bravo.” John had a love for music that went so much higher than typical, he used it as his therapy. His closest family would lovingly make fun of his “schoolgirl” giggles, and he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially around a bonfire. His wife and dogs were his whole world. John enjoyed racing and owning cars. He worked with the SORRB for the State of Georgia and was always dedicated in the pursuit of justice. John had a loving spirit and a heart of gold, even if he had a tough exterior appearance.

Survivors include his wife, Chelsey Stanfield Breivogel; his parents, Tom and Lasanda Breivogel; a brother, Steven Breivogel and his wife, Lillia; his maternal grandmother, Linda Eason; nephews, Dylon Barrett, Jax Barrett and Cade Barrett; nieces, Mila and Ada Breivogel; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kline and Debra Stanfield; sister-in-law, Mandy Barrett and her husband, Clay; a brother-in-law, Peyton Stanfield; his beloved dogs, Remmy, Houdi, Brittney, and Annie; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and other family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the charity of your choosing and make sure to let your loved ones know you love them.
