John Larry Powell

John Larry Powell, 61, of Americus, GA, died on Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at Phoebe Sumter Mecical Center.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend John Homer and Reverend Bill Harris officiating.

Mr. Powell was born September 26, 1949, in Marion County to John and Doris Davis Powell. He was a member of Union United Methodist Church. He had been employed as a salesman and was a member of the Jaycee's. He was preceded in death by his father.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Larri Amber Veasey of Albany, GA, and Crystal Dawn Desormo of Bushell, FL; by his long time companion Tammy Arizmendi of Americus, GA; three sisters, Elaine Pugh of Americus, GA, Jacqulin Deen of Atlanta, GA, and Joy Fuller of Buena Vista; and by two grandchildren, Lean Desormo and Ethan Desormo.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home in Buena Vista, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
