Joseph "Benny" Benjamin Chapman, Sr.

Mr. Joseph Benjamin “Benny” Chapman, Sr., 75 of Ellaville, passed away on May 13, 2021 at his residence.  Memorial services will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Rev. David Chapman officiating in the chapel of Way-Watson Funeral Home, 28 E. Oglethorpe St., Ellaville, GA.

Mr. Chapman was born June 25, 1945 in Buena Vista, GA.  He was an avid fisherman and a hard worker.  Benny was a good hearted man, and would help anybody he could. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joey Chapman, a brother, Rufus Chapman, a sister, Ann Moulton, and two grandchildren, Jojo Chapman and Jarrett Chapman.

Survivors include his fiancé, Tonya Jones of Ellaville; a daughter, Charmon Chapman of Ellaville; five grandchildren, Hilary Crider (Brian), Ben Chapman, Kaelynn Chapman, Evan Chapman, and Tyler Chapman; three great-grandchildren, Lailah, Elijah and Alahna; and several nieces and nephews.
