Joseph (Joe) Allen

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Joseph “Joe” Wallace Allen, 74, of Ellaville, GA died on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus, GA.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 11:00AM at Ellaville Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Poole and Dr. David Kitchens officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ellaville Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Michael Bobbitt, Christopher Massey, Matthew Massey, Joe Allen, Blaine Allen and Jessie Young.   The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 4 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. 

Mr. Allen was born October 4, 1940 in Schley County to the late James Ossie and Mary Hambrick Allen.  He had worked at Champion Home Builders and at Mulcoa as a heavy equipment operator before retiring.  Mr. Allen was a member of Ellaville Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.

            Survivors include his wife, Dean Allen; one daughter, Beckie Bobbitt of Ellaville, GA; two sons, Dwayne Allen and wife Katie of Sundance, WY, Joseph Allen and wife Jenny of Americus, GA; one brother, Bobby Allen and wife Paige of Marshallville, GA; three sisters, Linda Massey and husband Lamar of Rupert, GA, Dru Hill and husband Emory of Ellaville, and Sue Freshwater of Ellaville, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
