Joyce Cain Harris

Mrs. Joyce Cain Harris, 79, passed away on March 8, 2020 at Magnolia Manor of Marion County.  Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, in Preston, GA with Rev. Jonathon Jenkins officiating.  The family will greet friends at Way-Watson Funeral Home, Buena Vista on Wednesday evening from 6:00 -8:00 PM. 

Mrs. Harris was born to the late Walter and Carrie Holmes Cain in Americus, GA.  She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.  Mrs. Harris enjoyed reading, completing puzzle books, watching game shows and country music.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elussery Harris; a son, Daniel Harris; four sisters, Martha Manning, Mary Shillig, Katie Brown and Ruth Johnson and a brother, Frank Cain. 

Survivors include her son, Walter Harris and his wife, Kelli of Preston, GA; eight grandchildren, Cody, Mia and Annie Bell Harris; Brittany (Jacob) Forrest, Tiffany Harris, Tyler Sizemore, and Maria and Savannah Mejia; two brothers, Homer Cain of Leslie, GA and Charlie Cain of Jacksonville, Fl; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Youth Fund, 687 GA Hwy 30, Buena Vista, GA 31803.
