Kathryn W. McKenzie

Kathryn ‘Hank’ W. McKenzie, 73, of Superior, WI, formerly of Cusseta, GA, died peacefully Saturday, December 15, 2018, surrounded by her family at Essentia Health- St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN.  A graveside funeral service will be held at Buena Vista Cemetery on Sunday, December 23, 2018, at 3:00pm with Larry Wooldridge officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 22, 2018, from 6:00-8:00pm and on Sunday from 2:00pm until service time. The family will be receiving friends and family after the funeral at 239 S. Broad Street in Buena Vista.

She was born in Buena Vista, GA, on December 23, 1944, the daughter of Lester L. Wooldridge and Julia J. Wooldridge. Kathryn retired from Fort Benning, GA.  Prior to that, she had worked in her family’s pharmacy for many years. After retirement, she was a volunteer grandma in Solon Springs, WI, for Mrs. Willis’ first grade class.  Kathryn enjoyed being outside in her flower garden.  She was an avid piano and organ player and was a huge Braves fan. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her children, Laura (Peter) Gamache of Solon Springs, WI, Julia McKenzie of Columbus, GA, and William (Tiffany) McKenzie of Germany; grandchildren, Jessica Reilly, Mia McKenzie, William McKenzie Jr., and Alivia McKenzie; brother, Larry (Connie) Wooldridge, Jr. of New Smyrna Beach, FL; sister, Judy (Flem) Smith of Americus, GA; nieces, Kelli Smith and Kathryn Brown; nephews, Jason Smith and Lester Wooldridge III; and many extended family.
