Kaye Queen

Ms. Nena Kaye Queen, 70, of Columbus, passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA on October 15, 2021. Funeral services were held in the chapel of Way-Watson Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 4:00 PM with Rev. David Chapman officiating. The family greeted friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Ms. Queen was born in Douglasville, GA on March 1, 1951 to Clyde and Eunice “Queenie” Queen. She was a member of New Providence Baptist Church. Kaye enjoyed crocheting, playing the piano, reading, and watching science fiction shows and movies.

She retired from the Georgia Department of Driver Services after a career as a customer service representative. After retirement, she worked part-time for several years for The Journal newspaper in Buena Vista. She was also well known in the area for being an Avon representative for years, during which time she won the President’s Club Award numerous times. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Harris and her husband, Richard of Buena Vista, GA; a brother, Larry Queen of Atlanta, GA, and a grandson, Drew Harris.
