Laura Theus Cook

     ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mrs. Laura Leah Theus Cook, age 42, of Americus, GA died Friday, May 30, 2014 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA.  Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Monday, June 2, 2014 at Ellaville United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Ellaville Cemetery. Rev. Bryan Myers and Rev. David Chapman will officiate.

      Mrs. Cook was born July 18, 1971 in Sumter County, GA, the daughter of Bentley Theus and Carlynn Kirby. She was a nurse and worked at Southland Branch Family Practice.  Mrs. Cook was a member of Ellaville United Methodist Church.

      Survivors in include her husband, Jessie Cook of Americus; son, Bentley Ray Cook of Americus; mother, Carlynn Kirby and husband Charles of Ellaville; father, Bentley Theus and wife Pat of Jonesboro, GA; two brothers, Michael B. Theus and wife Leah of Ellaville, Johnny Murray of Ellaville; one sister Pat Theus Bartlett of Ellaville; father and mother in law, Norman Ray Cook and Beatrice Cook of Buena Vista, GA.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.    

     Pallbearers will include Don Cook, Randy Cook, Brett Waller, Jack Carver, Paul Clark and Justin Tedder.  Visitation will be held Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home.
