Obituary

Mrs. Lettie Lee Williams Royal, 93, of Ellaville, passed away on August 13, 2026. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at County Line Church at 10:30AM with Rev. Mark Kinservik and Rev. Jimmy Sharpe officiating. Burial will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason West, Zachary Royal, Jeremy Royal, Eric Allen, Cody Allen, Joseph Willis, and RT Lumpkin. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Post 191 American Legion Auxiliary. The family will greet friends at Way-Watson Funeral Home on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 6:00-8:00PM.

Mrs. Royal was born June 14, 1933, in Ellaville, GA to Leo Daniel and Willie Autry Williams. She was a longtime member of County Line Methodist Church and a member of the Post 191 American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Royal loved spending time with her family, cooking, sewing, making crafts and quilting. She taught quilting at Georgia Southwestern State University, and you could find her on the porch of the “cabin” at the Andersonville Fair every year, making quilts. She was always helping others and giving help to anyone that needed it. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Lynward Royal, a son, Leonard Greyling Royal, a sister, Florrie Gattis, and a brother, Herbert W. Williams, Sr.

Survivors include her children, Delieta “Dee” West-Willis and her husband Al, Lisa Allen-Lovell and her husband Dave, and Shanon Royal; seven grandchildren, Jason West (Traci), LeAndra Lumpkin (RT), Zachary Royal (Rebecca), Jeremy Royal, Eric Allen, Cody Allen, and Joseph Willis (Lindsey); ten great-grandchildren, Trypp Lumpkin, Kylee Lumpkin, Garrett West, John Allen, Jovi Allen, Elijah Royal, Emilia Royal, Charlotte Willis, Cecilia Willis, and Gabe Forte; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Perfect Care Remembrance Fund, 114 Sullivan Dr., Americus, GA 31709 or to County Line Church, 6374 Englishville Rd., Andersonville, GA 31711.
