Marvin Harris Folds, Sr.

Mr. Marvin Harris Folds, Sr., 87, of Ellaville passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at The Memory Center in Johns Creek, GA after an extended illness.  Graveside services will be held at Andersonville National Cemetery on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Joel Smith officiating.    

Mr. Folds was born September 14, 1936 in Granite Hill, GA to William Edward and Louise Jackson Folds.   He served in the U.S. Air Force out of high school, before continuing his education at ABAC and then to the University of Georgia, where he graduated in 1963 and married his wife, Janice.  Mr. Folds began working for the Georgia Department of Health as an Epidemiologist until his retirement after over 40 years of service.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Janice, a brother, Eddie Folds and an infant brother.

He is survived by two sons, Marvin Folds, Jr. of Blairsville, GA, and Douglas Folds of Lawrenceville, GA; a daughter, Pam O’Donnell and her husband Sean of Cumming; and two grandchildren, Ryan O’Donnell and Braeden O’Donnell.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Autism Speaks, Special Olympics of Georgia or the Alzheimer’s Association.
