Mary Lee Jones

Mrs. Mary Lee Perry Jones, 81, of Preston, GA, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Perfect Care Personal Care Home in Americus, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Parrott United Methodist Church with Rev. Fred Usry officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Trey Jones, David Lee, Guy Monkus, Jean Els, and Andrey Els.

Mrs. Jones was born February 7, 1944, in Cuthbert, GA. Known for many years as the “Cake Lady” of Parrott, her specialties were caramel and chocolate cakes. After her marriage to J. E., she dabbled in pound cakes which were equally delicious. Mary’s love for everyone in her life was truly genuine. She enjoyed spending time with her family and sharing pranks with her special grandson, Brock. Ivy Cate, Regean, Calla, and Collins always put a smile on her face. She enjoyed all aspects of farming including riding with Trey and David on tractors and combines. A devoted member of Parrott United Methodist Church, she loved her church family. She was a cosmetologist before her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry E. Jones, her first husband, Bobby Perry and a sister, Sandra Paul.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Dawn Jones, Jr. of Preston, GA; by two daughters, Donna Hudson of Preston, GA, and Dina Jones of Smiths Station, AL; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a niece Angel Perry Hunter (Rusty) of Dawson, GA; a nephew, Robbie Perry (Joan) of Terrell, GA; and several great nieces and nephews. Many special friends but one she called her sister, Jackie Brown of Parrott, GA, also survive.
