Melanie Ann Cornelius

Melanie Ann (Matteson) Cornelius, 65, of Buena Vista, GA, formerly of Saegertown, PA, passed away at her home on December 2, 2017 after a lengthy illness.

Melanie was born April 10, 1952 in Meadville, PA to James and Marie (Gibson) Matteson.  She married Larry Cornelius on December 2, 1972.  Melanie was a licensed practical nurse and worked for Crawford County Care Center in Saegertown, PA from 1992-2004, where she passionately cared for the residents.  In her spare time, Melanie enjoyed reading, writing in her journal, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her loving husband Larry Cornelius of Buena Vista, daughter Lisa Cornelius of Buena Vista, daughter Amber (James) DeBaise of Americus, son Larry (Takeia) Cornelius of Sumter, SC, beloved grandsons Matteson DeBaise, Takoda Cornelius, Ian Biedermann, Skyler Cornelius, and Mason DeBaise, and by her brother, Stephen Matteson of TX. Melanie was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Deann Matteson. 

Services will be private.  Memorial donations may be made to Marion County Public Library in Buena Vista, GA.
