Melvin "Butch" R. Strawn

Mr. Melvin Roland Strawn, 59, passed away on November 19, 2016.  The family may be greeted at their home at 8650 Hopewell Rd., Lizella, GA. Services will be private.

Butch, as he was affectionately known, was born on September 8, 1957 in England to Melvin R. Strawn, Sr. and Jean Pollard Strawn.  He was retired from Brown and Williamson as a Primary Technician.  Butch was a die-hard University of Georgia, Bulldogs Football fan.  Most of all, Butch loved his family, especially his grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Cole.

Survivors include his loving wife, Pamala Hunt Strawn of Lizella; two daughters, Brandi Wade of Lizella and Kristen Cox, and her husband Brandon of Oglethorpe, GA; five grandchildren, Machala Abney, Rilea Wade, Gage Cox, Caden Cox and Mason Cox; two aunts, Dottie Strawn McMichael and her husband, Harold of Jackson, GA and Sherill Strawn; several nieces and nephews also survive.
