ELLAVILLE, GA ---Rev. John T. Foxworth age 86, of Rochelle, GA died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Landmark Hospital in Athens, GA. Funeral services will be held at Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Wilcox County, GA at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 3, 2010 with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Dave Bradford, Rev. Ben Foxworth, Rev. Gilbert Hinson and Dr. Napp Grenade will officiate.
Bro. Foxworth was born June 8, 1923 in Florence, SC, the son of Benjamin F. Foxworth and Tula C. Foxworth. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell M. Foxworth. Bro. Foxworth was ordained to the gospel ministry October 1952. He attended North Greenville College, Carson-Newman College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Bro. Foxworth pastored churches in Louisiana, Georgia and South Carolina. He also had served in the Army Air Corp.
Bro. Foxworth is survived by son, Rev. Benjamin Foxworth and wife Dena of Ellaville, GA; daughter, Jane Bradford and husband David of Milledgeville, GA. Grandchildren, Dave Bradford and wife Meredith, Alicia Garrow and husband John, Katherine Holloman and husband Darrick, Kristin Foxworth, Elizabeth Foxworth and great grandchildren, Brianna Garrow, Hunter Bradford and Theodore Holloman also survive. In addition to his wife and parents, Bro. Foxworth was preceded in death by sisters, Virginia Renfroe, Ruth Ross and Dorothy Hendricks
Active pallbearers will be Pleat Cohen, Norman Cohen, John McDonald, Tommy McDonald, David Bradford and Dave Bradford.
Visitation will be held before the service, from 9:00 until 11:00 AM at Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gideons International, P. O. Box 722, Americus, GA 31709 for the purchase of Bibles, or to the future building fund of Ellaville Baptist Church, P. O. Box 325, Ellaville, GA 31806.
Watson-Giddens Funeral Home of Ellaville, GA is in charge of arrangements.


Directions to church: In Hawkinsville, GA take US Hwy 129 toward Abbeville. Cross over Cedar Creek Bridge. Church will be on the right. This will be 12 to 15 miles outside of Hawkinsville, right across the Wilcox County line.
