Richard Lee Anderson

     ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Richard (Ricky) Lee Anderson, age 55, of Ellaville, GA died Monday, September 7, 2015.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Shema Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Ellaville Cemetery.  Rev. Troy Fripp will officiate.  Motorcyclists are asked to wear their biker attire and lead the procession to the cemetery.

      Mr. Anderson was born June 13, 1960 in Sumter County, the son of the late Bobby and Pat Anderson.  He graduated from Tri-County High School in 1978 and served in the Marines.  Mr. Anderson worked in the trucking industry for many years and had worked most recently for Buck J’s Trucking.  He loved to ride motorcycles.  Mr. Anderson had coached baseball and was the founder and CEO for Team Jakob Youth Foundation.  He attended Shema Baptist Church.

      He is survived by his companion, Cheryl Bailey; two daughters, Joni Stubbs and husband Bubba of Ellaville, Geni Leigh Dufresne and husband Danny of Fruitland Park, FL; one brother, Greg Anderson of Ellaville, GA, and close friend, Eddie Rogers of Ellaville.  Five grandchildren, Mathew Dufrense, Landon Aldridge, Trenton Stubbs, Nene Wallace and Jace Welch also survive. In addition to his parents, Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by a brother, Chad Anderson and a grandson, Jakob Stubbs.

      Active pallbearers will be Steve James, Butch Fountain, Eddie Rogers, Matt Rogers, Chris Holloway, and Brandon Thompson.

        Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville.  Donations may be made to Team Jakob Youth Foundation, P. O. Box 1006, Ellaville, GA  31806.
