Sadie Ann "Kay" Couey Simmons

Mrs. Sadie Ann “Kay” Couey Simmons, 82, of Ellaville, passed away at her residence on Monday, May 20, 2024.   Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in Ellaville City Cemetery at 11:00AM with Mr. Jason Blankenship and Mr. Michael Blankenship officiating.  

Mrs. Simmons was born June 29, 1941, in Fayetteville, NC.  After high school, she became a cosmetologist and worked for many years, as well as escorting mobile homes during transport.  Mrs. Simmons loved being outdoors, watching birds and animals and would feed anything that came near to her house.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Randall Couey, by a brother, George Blankenship, and two sisters, Margaret Hardy and Virginia Ivey.  

Survivors include her husband, Horace L. Simmons of Ellaville; two stepchildren; a brother and sister-in-law; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a dog, Sandy.
