Sara Berry

 ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mrs. Sara D. Berry, age 102 of Americus, died Friday May 30, 2014 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus, GA.  A graveside service will be held Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery, Americus, GA.  Rev. Gary Page will officiate.

      Mrs. Berry was born September 28, 1911 in Sumter County, GA, the daughter of William and Mary Lizzie Dupree.  She worked as a seamstress at Manhattan Shirt Company, retiring in 1973 after working 23 years. Mrs. Berry was a member of Concord United Methodist Church.

      Mrs. Berry is survived by two daughters, Maxine McGrother and husband David of Americus, Susie Varnum and husband Gerald of Americus; three sons, Wayne Berry of Ideal, GA, Donnie Berry and wife Margie of Americus, and Bobby Berry and wife Saralyn of Americus. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and twenty one great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William Richard Berry and a son, Richard Berry.

      Visitation will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord United Methodist Church, 1996 GA Hwy. 30 W, Americus, GA 31719; or United Hospice, 708 East 16^th Ave., Cordele, GA  31015; or The Legion of the Good Samaritan, c/o Magnolia Manor, 2001 S.
