Sherry M. Starcher

Ms. Sherry M. Starcher, 75, of Americus, GA, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA.

Ms. Starcher was born June 18, 1950, in Talbotton, GA, to Otis Milton and Julie Mae Melton Murphy. She was employed in customer service for over 40 years before her retirement. Mrs. Starcher was very artistic and enjoyed painting and doing a lot of crafts. She could play piano like Beethoven, having never had a lesson or learned to read music. Mrs. Starcher enjoyed working in her garden and loved her dogs. She was an excellent cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Youngblood and Brenda Paul Johnson.

She is survived by her children, Judy Martinez (Marty) and Billy Cranford, III; by two sisters, Donna K. Ford and Janice M. Mooney; by four grandchildren, Brandon Britt, Joseph Britt, Billy Cranford, IV, and Shannon Cranford; and by ten great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
